Nepal's Night Road Race

Nepalgunj10 Night Run is Nepal’s only night-time road race. Launched to mark a decade of the simple yet iconic Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon, this unique race began its journey as a symbol of celebration, continuity, and innovation in Nepal’s running movement.

Organized jointly by Race Nepal and Creative Hands, and managed by Creative Gunj Media and Event Management, the race is held on a course certified by Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The route starts from BP Chowk, goes up to near Rajha Chowk, and returns along the same course to finish at BP Chowk.

Nepalgunj10 Night Run is also a full member race of AIMS. With this, Nepalgunj becomes the only city in Nepal to host two AIMS-certified races within the same city.

Along with AIMS affiliation, winners of Nepalgunj10 Night Run are provided opportunities to participate in Malaysia’s largest marathon, Score Marathon, and Thailand’s Bangsaen Marathon Series, which holds the prestigious Platinum Label recognition from World Athletics.

Last year’s champions were Mukesh Pal of the Nepal Army and Gita Kumari Sahu from Narainapur, Banke.

Led by AIMS Ambassador TS Thakuri, this race is dedicated to promoting running culture in Nepal. The successful organization of a night race reflects the city’s capacity, peace and security, unity, prosperity, and also contributes to the promotion of the night-time economy—motivating the organizers to continue this initiative year after year.
